Shifflet also applauded the community for helping centers obtain much-needed personal protective equipment, which is scarce across the country.

“Although we struggled to get PPE through our usual suppliers or the national reserve, the local community has been great,” said Shifflet. “James McCoy in the House, Centraide, GANT Medical and so many others who really got involved. I literally picked up PPE strewn on the porches of several people, local businesses, loading docks, etc. over the past two weeks. It is a wonderful community.
