Medical Report from Inmate at Doon Drug Rehab Center Confirms Rape | Dehradun News

Dehradun: a few days after the flight of four inmates from a private detoxification center in Dehradun and filed a complaint with the police, accusing the director of sexual assault and torture, the police said the medical examination of an inmate confirmed the rape.
The other three detainees – who said they were forced to give sexual favors after being threatened with punishment or in exchange for drugs – also underwent a medical examination.
Dharmendra Rautela, head of the Clement Town Police Station, said the scope of the investigation would be broadened in light of the medical examination report. “We will talk to other detainees, including those who were there in the past, to find out if they have been subjected to similar treatment,” he said.
TOI had earlier reported that a 19-year-old inmate alleged that at least two former residents of the center, originally from UP’s Saharanpur, were also raped by the warden. Police are investigating this complaint.
Four inmates – aged 19 to 26 – escaped the center last week and alleged that the warden, Vidyadutt Raturi, offered them “drugs of their choice” for sexual favors and threatened them with various forms of abuse. “Punishment” if they refused.
Raturi and the director of the center, Vibha Singh, are in police custody. The center, which had 17 men and five women in separate floors, began operating in February this year. The establishment would not have had health professionals or counselors.
Raturi had spent some time in prison in 2017 after escaping with a woman in Tehri district and a kidnapping case was filed against him.
